Civic and Public Sector
Design plays a crucial role in enhancing civic and public sector engagement by making information more accessible and visually appealing to the community. Thoughtful design helps convey complex ideas clearly, fostering greater understanding and participation among citizens. By utilizing user-centered design principles, public sector initiatives can create inclusive platforms that encourage collaboration and feedback, ultimately building trust between the government and the community. Effective design not only attracts attention but also inspires action, making it an essential element in driving civic engagement.
Darmstadt, Germany Delegation
A full collateral package for a delegation visit from Darmstadt, Germany, part of the San Antonio and Darmstadt Sister Cities partnership that began in 2017. I designed name badges, hand fans, social media graphics, and a 10 foot vinyl banner, all built on the provided Sister Cities branded artwork so the visit felt cohesive from the welcome table to the feed. The guest list ranged from city officials and business and scientific leaders to the SV Darmstadt 98 soccer club, so the badges carried standardized titles across every group, with each one delivered as its own PDF. The badges, fans, and banner were all prepared as print ready files and produced through the City Print Shop.
Buy Local San Antonio
Creative for the City of San Antonio Economic Development Department's Buy Local program, which encourages residents to spend with small businesses across the city. My work supports two programs: the Buy Local Savings Pass, a free digital savings book redeemed at participating businesses, and the Buy Local Legacy Pass, a gamified scavenger hunt created with the Office of Historic Preservation that sent residents to check in at Legacy Businesses for a chance to win a prize pack. I produced campaign graphics, email creative, and a promotional toolkit for participating businesses so both passes stayed recognizable and easy to join.
San Antonio Days
A three day program that welcomed consul generals and delegation representatives from countries around the world to learn about and experience San Antonio, introducing the city's assets as a major player in the global economy. I designed the full set of event materials: name badges, lanyards, a pop up banner, handheld wayfinding, and the menu for a full meal at Hotel Emma featuring City of Gastronomy chefs. Each piece helped international guests find their way, feel welcomed, and see San Antonio at its best from arrival to the dinner table.
Buy Local Holidays 2026
A holiday promo kit that lets small business owners join the season without a designer on staff. The kit is a set of ready to use PNG assets that businesses can drop into Canva or their own design software to promote their sales and events, tying them into the City of San Antonio Economic Development Department's holiday push for buying local.
